Video interview: Venus In Fur

First Published 21 September 2017, Last Updated 21 September 2017

We chatted to Natalie Dormer and David Oakes, stars of the upcoming Venus In Fur, about hysteria in the rehearsal room, knee high leather boots, and er, sadomasochism.

Venus In Fur is a critically acclaimed two-hander that follows a meeting between enigmatic actress Vanda Jordan (Dormer) and director Thomas Novachek (Oakes).

Vanda appears unannounced for an audition with Thomas, determined to land the leading role in his new production – despite seeming wrong for the part.

Over one evening in downtown Manhattan their charged meeting becomes a seductive dance to the end, in an intoxicating dark comedy of desire, fantasy and the innate love of fur.

The production is directed by Patrick Marber, and runs for a strictly limited nine week engagement at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 6 October to 9 December. Book now

Age Recommendation: 14+
