Ballet, tap, modern, jazz and big Broadway style dances fill the stage in the highly anticipated musical, An American In Paris. We were lucky enough to attend the launch event before the adaptation of the Oscar-winning MGM musical opens its doors to London audiences in March 2017.

We caught up with Christopher Wheeldon, the show’s Olivier and Tony Award-winning, director and choreographer, and four of the show’s London cast members to discuss the story, the music, the romance, and, of course, the dancing.

An American In Paris tells the story of Jerry Mulligan, an American GI striving for success as a painter at the cessation of the war. In a city whose streets are overflowing with joyous hope and sheer potential, a chance encounter with beautiful young dancer Lise leads Jerry on a journey of friendship, love and a sensuous romance of art.

An American In Paris will open at the Dominion Theatre from 4 March 2017. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
