Trafalgar Studios gets Sexy Partridge for Christmas

Published 4 November 2009

The Trafalgar Studios will bring a little bit of Christmas cheer to London’s late night audiences this festive season with the silly seasonal offering Stephen And The Sexy Partridge.

The musical comedy, a sell-out hit at the Old Red Lion in 2008, follows Stephen on a Christmas shopping spree unlike any other, and features bagpipe-playing potatoes, revolutionary hens, dancing swans and a very special partridge.

Directed by Cal McCrystal, who has previously worked with cult comedy icons The Mighty Boosh and Sacha Baron Cohen, Stephen And The Sexy Partridge stars its co-writers Lily Bevan and Finnian O’Neill in the title roles.

Bevan’s credits include A Voyage Round My Father at the Donmar Warehouse, while O’Neill’s include The Trial at the National Theatre. The cast is completed by Lorna Beckett, Pandora Colin, Lucia McAnespie, Maggie Service, Gemma Whelan and Lizzie Winkler.

Stephen And The Sexy Partridge plays late evening performances at the intimate Trafalgar Studio 2, following early evening performances of scandal drama Public Property and children’s show Potted Potter. The venue’s larger theatre, the Trafalgar Studio 1, hosts Lenny Henry’s Othello until 12 December.
