This week, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical made its world debut at Aldwych Theatre. Though it only officially opened last night, tickets to the jukebox biomusical have been flying out the door and many performances are already sold out. But don’t fret. There’s plenty of opportunities to see the inspiring and glorious new musical – especially as a new booking period has just been announced.

Following rave reviews and an awe-inspiring standing ovation last night, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical has been extended a second time taking its run to 16 February 2019. That means an additional 140,000 tickets have gone on sale today.

Depicting the extraordinary life of the undisputed Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina – The Tina Turner Musical follows the woman behind the fame – from humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to the global superstar we know and love today. It’s an inspirational story of a woman who faces abuse, abandonment and discrimination yet still achieves her dreams due to her determination and self-belief. Plus, it’s all set to a rocking score of Tina Turner anthems including Proud Mary, River Deep Mountain High, Private Dancer and, of course, Simply The Best.

Broadway superstar and Tony-nominated actress Adrienne Warren is making her West End debut in the role of Tina, while Kobna Holdbrook-Smith plays Ike Turner. It’s written by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins and presented in association with Tina Turner herself.

So get ready to don your sequins, tease up your hair and get ready to sing all night long, because this is one hell of a party.
