First Published 18 May 2011, Last Updated 18 May 2011

A collection of the hottest names from the world of theatre will be sharing the music that inspires them in a new series at Jermyn Street theatre.

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Songs, which runs from 29 May to 4 June, will feature arts journalist Mark Shenton delving into the musical mindset of nine of theatre’s most influential people, discovering the songs that inspire them and the work they do.

Among the headliners exposing the tuneful truth are director/choreographers Rob Ashford and Craig Revel Horwood, producers Bill Kenwright and Michael Codron, National Theatre Artistic Director Nicholas Hytner, actress Janie Dee, theatre school founder Sylvia Young and musical duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Musical theatre star Caroline Sheen, whose credits include Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, will sing the interviewees’ favourite songs.
