Theatres across London will be supporting the British Red Cross’ ‘Night for London’ campaign to raise funds for those affected by the London terror attacks, as The Society of London Theatre co-ordinates bucket collections and donations from member theatres. The Official London Theatre ticket booth, TKTS, will also be donating £1 on every ticket sold.

Saturday marks one week from the London terror attacks and the campaign will raise vital funds for those affected. Eight people were killed and dozens injured after attacks on London Bridge and nearby Borough Market.

The money raised will go to the British Red Cross’ UK Solidarity Fund which has been launched in response to the recent events in London and Manchester. Donations will help victims of terror attacks anywhere in the UK, starting with London. In its first 48 hours, the fund raised nearly £400,000.

Amy Lamé, London’s night czar, said the drive would be a demonstration of the city’s “unity and resilience”.

Staying in? Those outside the capital or staying at home on Saturday can also donate by texting UNITY to 70607 to donate £10. Texts cost £10 plus 1 standard rate message. The British Red Cross UK Solidarity Fund receives 100 per cent. You can see full terms and conditions here. You can also donate online
