Theatre Tokens celebrates 25th birthday

Theatre Tokens, the nationwide theatre voucher scheme, celebrates 25 years of supporting theatre in 2009 and is offering money off restaurants, shops and hotel deals to celebrate.

The theatre vouchers, which are accepted in over 230 theatres across the UK, were launched in 1984 to help promote theatregoing. In the 25 years since, West End shows have come and gone – except The Mousetrap, which has entertained audiences at the St Martin’s theatre for the whole of Theatre Tokens’s life – but Theatre Tokens have been ever present in London theatre.

To mark reaching its quarter century, Theatre Tokens is including a Celebrating 25 Years voucher booklet with every order made via theatretokens.com or Tokenline (0870 164 8800) until the end of September.

The wallet-pleasing booklet includes money off restaurants including Strada, Café Rouge and Bella Italia, hotel deals with Superbreak and Theatrebreaks, shopping at Dress Circle and membership to the Midweek Dining Club. It also includes a chance to win £125 of Theatre Tokens.

Theatre Tokens, which can also be bought from selected branches of WHSmith, Waterstone’s, Borders and Books etc, come in £5, £10 and £20 denominations. More information, including participating theatres, can be found at theatretokens.com
