Theatre Makers of the future assemble!: Sam Schuck, Prosthetics Make-up Artist

Published 16 November 2018

Can you believe that TheatreCraft 2018 is on Monday?! It’s your last chance to book the day off for Monday 19 November and come along to the UK’s largest free careers event for young people interested in offstage theatre jobs!

Ahead of the event, we’ve asked the six inspiring theatre makers who front the TheatreCraft 2018 campaign to give some insights into their chosen careers, the best advice they got when starting out, and why careers events like TheatreCraft are worth attending. Our first interview was with producer Debbie Hicks, our second with Lighting Designer Rajiv Pattani, our third with Company Manager Sunita Hinduja, our fourth with Head of Armoury Daniel Walker, and our fifth with Set & Costume Designer Kadhija Raza.

In our sixth and final interview, we quiz Sam Schuck, Prosthetics Make-up Artist, who chatted about starting out in his career, inspiring advice he’s received and why TheatreCraft is so important for young people looking for guidance and ideas about an offstage job in theatre.

And for a non-scientific diagnosis as to your ideal behind-the-scenes career, why not try our quiz?

TheatreCraft 2018 will take place on Monday 19 November, 9.30am-4.30pm, at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel.

If you’re aged 16-30 and want to explore the different theatre jobs behind the curtain, book your free place on the TheatreCraft website.
