The Prince Of Egypt first night #BackOnStage

Published 5 July 2021

Frankie and Daniel were lucky enough to go the reopening of The Prince Of Egypt at the Dominion Theatre last week!

The show, based on the classic DreamWorks animated film, has music and lyrics by the renowned Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) including 10 news songs alongside the 5 we know and love from the movie. The show itself transports audiences to the shifting sands of Ancient Egypt, where two young men grown up together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege. But when a secret path is unearthed, they are divided – one must rule as Pharaoh, and the other must rise up and free his true people. Both face a destiny that will change their worlds – and history – forever.

Have a watch to see what we thought:

As mentioned by Frankie, the show ended with all the cast and creative coming on stage (some via the magic of video screens) and we heard heartfelt speeches about how the pandemic has been for those working in the theatre industry and how it feels to finally be #BackOnStage. You can watch the epic curtain call here:
