Catch a look at Claire Foy and Matt Smith in socially distanced rehearsals for Lungs at The Old Vic

First Published 25 June 2020, Last Updated 26 June 2020

The Old Vic has released a number of photos showing Claire Foy and Matt Smith in rehearsals for their upcoming socially distanced online performances of Lungs.

The production will be directed by Matthew Warchus and will run in the new Old Vic: In Camera artistic initiative. Between Friday 26 June and Saturday 4 July, there will be a number of socially distanced performances of Duncan MacMillan’s Lungs followed by a series of major rehearsed play-readings, all streamed live with the empty 202-year old auditorium as a backdrop.

Replicating the theatre’s usual audience capacity, each performance will be available for up to 1,000 people per night (including some matinees). Tickets will be priced from £10 – £65 and while all ‘seats’ will offer the same view from the comfort of your home, the theatre kindly asks audiences to give what they can to help support them during this difficult time. In return, you’ll enjoy a completely unique experience! For those able to support further, there is an option to add a further donation on top of the ticket price.

We can’t wait to tune into what has been described by the theatre as a “hilarious emotional rollercoaster of a play about a couple wrestling with life’s biggest dilemmas.” Check out the socially distanced rehearsal images below and book your tickets to see this epic production now.
