The Family returns to Hackney Empire

Teatr Licedi, the popular St Petersburg clown troupe, returns to the Hackney Empire with its zany production The Family, which proves that even the oddest of families love each other, even if they hide it very well!

First seen at the venue in July 2007, the show tells the story of a crazy, dysfunctional and hilarious family comprised of a Vodka swilling father who is always on the verge of leaving, a pregnant mother always on the verge of delivery and two children always on the verge of clobbering their useless parents. With their unique delivery, this production is a comic spectacle for all of the family.

Mixing traditional clowning with Licedi’s contemporary style, the show promises to enthral and delight both children and adults, and is the company’s fifth outing at the Hackney Empire.

Expect to be part of an extraordinary pillow fight, be soaked by wet washing or even flirted with in this off-the-wall show. The Family opens on 9 September and runs until 27 September.
