In our profile series, Tell Us In 10, we ask cast members and creatives of top London shows to tell us all about themselves in just 10 questions. From how their castmates would describe them and alternative careers, to their Theatreland idols, we want to know it all!

This week, we hear from Tom Francis, who’s currently playing Romeo in & Juliet

Find out more about Tom and his career so far below:

1. My route into theatre was…

I went to college and did a BTEC in Musical Theatre, then did a BA Hons at ArtsEd.

2. My West End idol is…

Oliver Tompsett & Ivan De Freitas. Having worked with them now has been an incredible experience.

3. My colleagues would describe me as…

The voice of a Lion and the hair of a Parakeet.

4. My favourite show present or past (that isn’t one I star in) is…

RENT has been and always will be my favourite show.

5. The career moment I’m most proud of is…

Performing ‘One More Try’ @ The Royal Albert Hall was a huge high point, it was sold out and the talent in the show was next level and that orchestra was fantastic.

6. The hardest part about my role is…

Not being in Act 1 on 2 show days, it’s really hard to keep your stamina.

7. If I didn’t work in theatre I would be…

Farmer or Musician! Would be hard to choose between them.

8. Something people don’t know about me is…

I can wiggle my ears.

9. The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…

Don’t walk backwards in a supermarket.

10. The one thing I wish I could tell my younger self is…

Get into the habit of keeping a calendar. It will save you so much struggle.

You can see Tom Francis play Romeo in & Juliet now!
