In our profile series, Tell Us In 10, we ask cast members and creatives of top London shows to tell us all about themselves in just 10 questions.

This week we have the brilliant Lizzie Burder who is starring as Peppa’s best friend Daisy in Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever currently playing at the Duke of York’s TheatreFrom castles to caves, dragons to dinosaurs and ice-creams to muddy puddles – there is something for all to enjoy in this fun and friendly show.

1. My route into theatre was…

I always wanted to do costume design, but realised I’d be way too jealous of the people getting to wear the costumes, so I rerouted from art school to drama school.

2. My West End idol is…

Laura Baldwin – I love her as Dawn in Waitress and I hope to follow in her footsteps one day.

3. My colleagues would describe me as…

Gullible. Had to check the ceiling for spelling.

4. My favourite show present or past (that isn’t one I star in) is…

The Jungle is the most beautiful piece of story telling I have ever seen in theatre. It is so moving but so full of hope. I left the theatre with fresh empathy and a feeling of solidarity. I think watching it should be compulsory.

5. The career moment I’m most proud of is…

It will be when I hopscotch on stage and make my West End debut in Peppa. I can’t believe it’s really going to happen and I am so grateful to Richard Lewis for believing in me.

6. The hardest part about my role is…

Probably breath control, I’m shattered after the first minute of the show!

7. If I didn’t work in theatre I would be…

An animator or a primary school teacher.

8. Something people don’t know about me is…

I’m pretty open, I can’t think of anything that people who know me wouldn’t know. But I am quite scared of swimming.

9. The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…

Only compare yourself to previous versions of you. Still working on that though!

10. The one thing I wish I could tell my younger self is…

Pay attention to what you’ve got right now and find joy in it.

You can catch Lizzie in action in Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever at the Duke of York’s Theatre, but be quick as the show is only playing until 5 January!
