In our profile series, Tell Us In 10, we ask cast members and creatives of top London shows to tell us all about themselves in just 10 questions. From how their castmates would describe them and alternative careers, to their Theatreland idols, we want to know it all!

This week, we hear from Kathy Kiera Clarke, who is currently playing Claire in The Dry House at Marylebone Theatre

Find out more about Kathy and his career so far below:

1) My route into theatre was…

In Sixth Form at school a group of us formed a theatre company and toured Ireland with our show. We were then given the opportunity to play one performance at the National Theatre, on the Olivier Stage. Within months of that (having shelved any thoughts of university) I was doing Factory Girls by Frank McGuiness at the Tricycle Theatre. It’s now the Kiln but will always be the Tricycle to me. I’m nostalgic like that.

2) My West End idol is…

Whoever I happen to be watching and marvelling at on any given night. I have seen too many thrilling performances to single one out.

3) My colleagues would describe me as…

Someone you really do not want to make corpse!!

4) My favourite show (that isn’t one I star in/work on) is…

See answer 2!

5) The career moment I’m most proud of is…

Pride isn’t useful. It doesn’t serve us well. The aim is to bring the audience into the world we have crafted in the rehearsal room. That’s satisfying. Gets the adrenaline pumping…

6) The hardest part about my job/role is…

The comedown after the final show at the end of a run. It’s always a wrench.

7) If I wasn’t an actor, I would be…

Unemployed.

8) Something people don’t know about me is…

…Shall remain something people don’t know about me…

9) The best piece of advice I’ve ever been given is…

A wise man once said ‘Some of the worst things in my life never even happened’.

10) The one thing I wish I could tell my younger self is…

Buy that house in North London in the 1990s!!
