Sophie Evans joins Lord Of The Dance

Former Over The Rainbow contestant Sophie Evans and The Voice UK’s Rachael O’Connor will appear in the Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games when Michael Flatley’s Irish dance spectacular heads to London’s Playhouse Theatre this weekend.

The duo will alternate the role of Erin The Goddess – the part in which Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle made guest appearances for the show’s premiere last year – from 10 October to 3 January.

After becoming runner-up in the BBC’s 2010 series of TV talent show Over The Rainbow, Evans appeared as Dorothy in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical The Wizard Of Oz at the London Palladium in 2012.

While O’Connor made her London stage debut in last year’s premiere of Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games, she is best known for her appearance in series three of The Voice UK where she was coached by Kylie Minogue.

The pair will join the previously announced James Keegan and Morgan Comer alongside brothers Cathal and Fergal Keaney, who are both, like Keegan and Comer, winners of multiple World Irish Dancing Championship titles and have been handpicked by Flatley.

Featuring groundbreaking new technology including holographs, special effects lighting, dancing robots and world champion acrobats, Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games tells a classic story of good versus evil as Little Spirit travels through time to help the eponymous noble protect his people from Don Dorcha.

Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games will begin its third residency in the capital on Saturday following successful runs at the London Palladium and Dominion Theatre.
