First Published 12 July 2016, Last Updated 12 July 2016

The Olivier Award-winning actress returns to the show following a period of illness.

Sheridan Smith returned to the role of Fanny Brice at the weekend, having been absent from the production for several weeks due to stress and exhaustion. A statement released by the producers of Funny Girl announced that Smith will continue to perform throughout this week, except for Wednesday matinée and Thursday evening. From the week commencing 18 July, Smith is scheduled to perform Tuesdays to Saturdays, with her understudy, Natasha J. Barnes, playing Fanny Brice on Monday evenings. This schedule is subject to change.

Funny Girl runs at the Savoy Theatre until 8 October. You can buy tickets through us here.
