First Published 19 October 2015, Last Updated 19 October 2015

An incredible seven million theatregoers have now been put under the spell of the West End’s most gravity-defying musical, Wicked, after the Oz-set hit celebrated welcoming its seven millionth audience member to the Apollo Victoria Theatre on Saturday.

The staggeringly impressive milestone saw audience member Andrew Bell enjoy a backstage tour with the cast having been crowned the lucky ticketholder.

The seven million theatregoers who have popped their heads in to see the L Frank Baum-inspired tale contribute to a whopping 50 million audience members who have seen Elphaba and Glinda in all their wand-erful glory in 13 countries worldwide.

Now the 9th longest running show in the West End, Wicked charts the story of the aforementioned magical duo who meet at sorcery school and go on to fulfil their destinies as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, the musical features the now iconic hits The Wizard And I, For Good, Popular and Defying Gravity.

The West End production currently stars Emma Hatton and Savannah Stevenson as Elphaba and Glinda alongside Oliver Savile, Liza Sadovy, Tom McGowan, Sean Kearns, Daniel Hope and Katie Rowley Jones.

With Halloween on the way, there’s no better time to enjoy the musical tale of the West End’s most notorious witch, especially when you also have the chance to win an incredible trip to New York when booking tickets through us before 26 November. Wicked is currently booking at the Apollo Victoria Theatre until 5 November 2016.
