What’s it all about?
For years, the question was asked: Scooby, Scooby-Doo, where are you?
Well, the London Palladium, it turned out, as Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries sees the lovable mutt and his entourage, the ingenious Mystery Inc. gang, take to the London stage to crack the mystery of a ghost haunting the iconic venue.
Masquerading as a band under the moniker of “Missing Link”, the infectiously energetic and exuberant musical numbers the group perform set the scene for an action-packed, dynamic and enthralling clue hunt that’s as close to an episode of the brilliant children’s TV show on stage as you’re ever likely to see. Yikes!
Who’s in it?
A cast with boundless energy, joyful enthusiasm, and superb vocals. All of your favourite characters from the show are here – Velma, Daphne, Fred, Shaggy and, of course, Scooby-Doo – and all are portrayed with the hilarious traits you’ll remember them having. Charlie Haskins and Rebecca Withers particularly shine as goofy Shaggy and crafty Velma respectively.
For those who like to join in, there’s also plenty of chance for audiences young and old to interact, help out the gang, and sing and dance along to catchy tunes aplenty.
What should I look out for?
The ghost, of course. Audiences are encouraged to let the Mystery Inc. gang know when the spectral villain is in sight, so you won’t be alone in looking out for him…
Jokes for the older members of the audience scattered throughout, with more than a few pun-tastic references to the West End.
The horrifying, heinous theft of Scooby Snacks.
In a nutshell?
Kids are sure to have a hoot, a spook and a boogie; Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries is infectiously energetic and entertaining.
Will I like it?
Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries is a masterclass in how to make a show enjoyable for all ages. With plenty of on-stage action, colourful sets and costumes, and interactive elements present for kids to enjoy, and lots of slightly subtler jokes for adults to chuckle along to, you can’t help but be swept into a smile by the sheer energy of the show and the response it evokes from its young audience. Scooby-Dooby-Doo, indeed!
