Room On The Broom returns

Families will be reacquainted with Julia Donaldson’s kind-hearted witch, disgruntled cat and their decreasingly spacious broomstick this Christmas as the Lyric Theatre makes room for the West End return of Room On The Broom.

The musical stage adaptation of former Children’s Laureate Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book will return to the venue from 26 November to 11 January.

The story follows the witch and her comically cranky cat as they fly happily along on their broomstick. When a stormy wind blows the witch’s belongings away into the night, a helpful dog, bird and frog offer to help her find them by hitching a lift on the broomstick, but there isn’t room on this broomstick for everyone and it snaps, leaving the witch at the peril of a hungry dragon.

Children aged between three and eight-years-old, and their grown-ups, will have to head to the Lyric Theatre this festive season to find out whether any of the witch’s companions can save her as they’re taken on an exciting adventure with enchanting puppetry, sing-a-long songs and scary fun.

The show, which will play daytime performances alongside the poptastic West End spectacular Thriller Live, follows in the footsteps of another family show, The Tiger Who Came To Tea, which is currently entertaining young audiences and Kids Week ticketholders with its tale of teatime mayhem.
