If, by the end of this article, you’re not loading up a “Best of the 90s” playlist, then congratulations. Ready? Okay, here goes: the hilarious comedy Education, Education, Education is coming to Trafalgar Studios. And with it brings a whole heap of 90s goodness; we’re talking The Spice Girls, Oasis, Take That, the Macarena, the Teletubbies, and a pre-Harry Potter and iPhone world. In the words of the show itself, “Now That’s What I Call 1997”.

On your way to listen to the show’s Spotify playlist? I thought so.

Education, Education, Education is the Wardrobe Ensemble’s irreverent and inventive story of schooling in the 1990s – May 1997, to be precise. With Titanic on the shelves of every Blockbuster, and Britain having just won Eurovision, the nation’s spirit is soaring. And while political change occurs outside of the classroom, courtesy of one Tony Blair, there’s also a revolution within it, as schoolteachers struggle to keep up with the changing world.

Full of music, fads and icons from the 90s, the show is a playful take on the onset of the twenty-first century. It begins performances at London’s Trafalgar Studios from 31 May. And from the looks of things in the rehearsal room, we have plenty to look forward to – take a look at James Bullimore’s snaps of the Wardrobe Ensemble in rehearsal below…
