Rat Pack returns for Adelphi season

First Published 22 June 2009, Last Updated 22 June 2009

Frank, Sammy & Dean – The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas is to swing its way back to the West End stage this autumn, when it plays a limited season at the Adelphi theatre.

Taking its inspiration from the glitzy, glamorous Las Vegas scene of the late 1950s and early 1960s, the show, which opens on 28 September (following previews from 23 September), brings together the three most famous members of The Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin – in an evening of banter and music.

The show, which is celebrating its 10th year of Las Vegas coolness, includes the finest and most memorable of The Rat Pack’s songs, such as Mr Bojangles, That’s Amore, Fly Me To The Moon, New York New York and My Way.

From 24 November, the show takes a festive twist, becoming Christmas With The Rat Pack and adding a selection of seasonal numbers to the evening’s entertainment.

The Adelphi theatre will be the fifth West End home for Frank, Sammy & Dean – The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas. The show started life at the Beck theatre, Hayes, in January 2000, when it began touring the UK. After a successful one-week run at the Peacock theatre, it played 12 weeks at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in 2003 before transferring to the Novello theatre (then named the Strand theatre) in July 2003, where it entertained audiences for two years before transferring again to the Savoy theatre. It played its final performance at the Savoy theatre in the summer of 2006.

Frank, Sammy & Dean – The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas follows current hit Derren Brown: Enigma at the Adelphi theatre. The master mind-magician’s new show opened earlier this month and plays until 18 July.
