Toddlers can get dancing this autumn thanks to a new Family Dance Movement class for youngsters and their parents/carers at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD).
Taught by a RAD teacher and accompanied by a pianist, the class aims to give toddlers aged two and a half and older an introduction to movement and dance. Designed to improve children’s confidence, coordination and social skills, the class uses a variety of props and music to capture their imagination.
Older children are also catered for this autumn by a fun new class for 14 to 18-year-olds with little or no dance experience. Ballet For Beginners introduces students to the basics of ballet technique, improving their posture and coordination and allowing them to express themselves through music and movement.
Held each week throughout the term, the Family Dance Movement class costs £88 for the 11-week autumn term while Ballet For Beginners costs £82.50 for the term.
The new classes, held at RAD’s Dance School in Battersea, join the academy’s roster of courses for beginners and more experienced dancers, including classes for adults and dance students and musical theatre workshops.
