Popular New Girl extends run

Published 27 January 2012

Following huge demand from excited audiences, the Bush theatre has added an extra week to the run of Nancy Harris’s play Our New Girl.

The drama, which stars Mark Bazeley, Kate Fleetwood and Denise Gough, will now play at the Shepherd’s Bush venue until 18 February.

Described by Michael Billington as “an unsettling, engrossing psychological drama”, Harris’s play explores the darker side of parenthood, looking at the life of expectant mother Hazel whose plastic surgeon husband has embarked on his latest charitable quest, leaving her with a failing business and a problem son.

Our New Girl’s extension does not have any knock on effect for the Bush’s next production, Ishy Din’s tale of modern Muslim men, Snookered, which begins its run at the venue on 28 February.
