Playhouse receives Petticoats transfer

First Published 16 November 2009, Last Updated 17 November 2009

Dreamboats And Petticoats, the hit musical inspired by an album of 60s pop classics which closed at the Savoy theatre last month, will twist again at London’s Playhouse theatre from 6 January 2010.

Originally a successful touring show, Dreamboats And Petticoats opened at the Savoy theatre in July, proving so popular that it extended its run at the venue by seven weeks.

Written by Birds Of A Feather and Goodnight Sweetheart writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, Dreamboats And Petticoats is set in 1961 and tells the story of Norman and Bobby, two aspiring musicians hoping to win both a national song writing competition and the attention of the gorgeous Sue. The songs linking the action together include enduring classics such as Runaround Sue, Great Pretender, Bobby’s Girl and Let’s Dance.

Dreamboats And Petticoats replaces La Cage Aux Folles, which closes at the Playhouse theatre on 2 January following its highly-acclaimed Laurence Olivier Award-winning West End run.
