Act for Change, which launched in 2014, is now a registered charity that aims to oppose and eliminate discrimination on any grounds and to educate and bring awareness to equality and diversity within the arts community.

Helen began creating the Widening the Lens series in 2016. Featuring a range of theatre-makers from different backgrounds, it was originally to be showcased in an exhibition. Due to lockdown, Helen moved the portraits online, with each individual wearing or holding an Act for Change pin.

A number of the individuals in the series are freelancers who are currently out of work and are finding it challenging to gain support during the ongoing pandemic.
