You won’t need to take the second star to the right and go straight onto morning to see Peter Pan in London, just head to the Troubadour White City Theatre in July.
This magical retelling of J M Barrie’s classic children’s story will be directed by Olivier Award-winning Sally Cookson (Jane Eyre, A Monster Calls). Performances of Peter Pan will run from 20 July till 27 October 2019.
The story of the boy who didn’t grow up who leads his band of Lost Boys, Peter Pan loses his shadow during a visit to London. When he finds it he meets Wendy, who helps him re-attach it. In return for helping him, Peter invites her to Neverland – where friends Tinker Bell and Tiger Lily, and foes like the vengeful Captain Hook await.
Initially performed at the Bristol Old Vic and National Theatre in 2016, this unforgettable production will feature innovative aerial acrobatics and live music from an on-stage band. Bursting with magic, mischief, music and make-believe, Sally Cookson’s wondrously inventive Peter Pan is a funny and moving version of a much-loved story.
Peter Pan is designed by Michael Vale with costume design by Katie Sykes, dramaturgy by Mike Akers, lighting design by Aideen Malone, and sound design by Dominic Bilkey. Peter Pan features original music by Benji Bower, with movement direction by Dan Canham, puppetry co-design and direction by Toby Olié and aerial direction by Gwen Hales. Casting is by Sam Stevenson.
