Paddington discovers London is the theatre capital of the world | Great Theatre Is Best Shared

Mrs Bird and Mr Gruber from the hit new show, Paddington The Musical, teach a special bear from Peru all about London’s Theatreland in our brand new video.

Mrs Bird, the ever-warm housekeeper and wise confidante of the Brown family (played by West End legend, Bonnie Langford) and Mr Gruber, the warm, antique-shop owner (played by Teddy Kempner) share the wonders of the West End with Paddington (played by Arti Shah and James Hameed). The funny shows such as The Play That Goes Wrong, Titanique; shows with dancing like The Producers, The Devil Wears Prada; shows with fantastical characters including My Neighbour Totoro and Wicked. Then there are the shows that will transport you such as Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Les Misérables; shows with songs you will love like Mamma Mia! and Six The Musical and new shows like Beetlejuice The Musical and The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind. Plus, one whodunnit… with The Mousetrap.

These are just some of the many shows that Paddington can tell Aunt Lucy all about. In fact, our London Theatre Guide lists 59 Theatreland venues to visit!

This season we celebrate not just the shows themselves, but the shared moments that make them unforgettable. Whether you are with friends, family or treating yourself to a solo trip, there is something magical about sitting in a theatre as the lights dim and a story begins to unfold – not just on stage, but among the audience. A glance, a laugh, a collective breath held at just the right moment.

Because great theatre isn’t just something you watch – it’s something you experience together.

And as Mrs Bird says, “Great Theatre Is Best Shared”…just like Paddington’s marmalade sandwiches.
