Stage and screen stars Matthew Fox and Olivia Williams have been confirmed as the first high profile presenters for the 2011 Laurence Olivier Awards.
The pair will be joined at the star-studded ceremony on 13 March by opera singer turned musical theatre leading man Alfie Boe, who will also present an award.
American actor Fox is best known for the six years he spent playing Jack Shephard in hit series Lost, but first found fame opposite Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt in 90s family drama Party Of Five.
From March he is to star opposite English actress Williams (An Education, The Sixth Sense, The Postman) in Neil LaBute’s new dark comedy In A Forest Dark And Deep, which is to play at the Vaudeville theatre.
Boe has quickly become one of British opera’s most recognisable faces whose current album, Bring Him Home, broke into the top ten of the album chart earlier this year. He is making the leap into musical theatre in 2011, playing Jean Valjean in Les Misérables at the Queen’s theatre later this year.
Fox, Williams and Boe are just a few of the worldwide stars who will be attending the 2011 Laurence Olivier Awards with MasterCard, as London theatre’s most prestigious prize-giving gets a glamorous overhaul. The ceremony, held on 13 March at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, will feature invited global superstars and specially created performances as it celebrates a year of fabulous performances and productions.
