NT Live shows A View From Bridge

Published 15 January 2015

The Mark Strong-led Young Vic production of A View From The Bridge, which transfers to London’s Wyndham’s Theatre next month, will be screened worldwide as part of National Theatre Live on 26 March.

The Ivo Van Hove-directed production of Arthur Miller’s classic, which was widely acclaimed when it ran at the Waterloo venue last year, will be shown at more than 1,500 screenings across 40 countries.

Star of films including Stardust, Kick-Ass and the recently premiered Kingsman: The Secret Service, Strong plays Eddie Carbone in Miller’s dark tale. When the Brooklyn longshoreman welcomes his Sicilian cousins to America, he is not counting on one of them falling for his niece. It sparks a jealousy and mistrust in Carbone that leads to the ultimate betrayal.

Strong is joined in the production by Nicola Walker, who won an Olivier Award in 2013 for her performance in The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time, Phoebe Fox, who was recently seen exploring Ell Marsh House in The Woman In Black 2 on the big screen, Emun Elliott, Michael Gould, Richard Hansell and Luke Norris.

A View From The Bridge runs at the Wyndham’s from 10 February to 11 April and follows another successful transfer from an off-West End venue, the Almeida Theatre’s King Charles III, which ends its run on 31 January.
