New to Official London Theatre

Several new features at Official London Theatre are now available, including seating plans, new access photo maps, archived Official London Theatre Guides and a new Access London Theatre brochure.

Official London Theatre now has seating plans available to download for over 40 West End Theatres. Each plan includes details for each tier of seating, as well as highlighting seats that may have a restricted view or column near by, so you know exactly where your seats will be positioned when you book. The plans can be downloaded from individual show listings.

There are currently 32 existing access photo maps available to download at Official London Theatre and today a further 14 were launched. The maps provide clear, detailed directions from accessible stations or London landmarks straight to the theatre door. With photos included for each step of the journey, the maps are invaluable both for people with access difficulties and theatregoers visiting London. The maps are available in PDF format on the venue access page.

The summer 2009 Access London Theatre brochure is now also available. Listing audio-described, captioned and signed performances taking place between May and August, the brochure contains over 120 entries for 70 different productions across London.

The Access London Theatre brochure is an invaluable tool for theatre lovers who may find it difficult to see or hear what is happening onstage. The brochure includes descriptions of the shows, details of ticket prices, how to book, information about the types of assisted performance, and a list of useful organisations and websites. It is available free of charge and can be requested in print, on tape or in Braille. To order a copy, please call 020 7557 6700 or email enquiries@solttma.co.uk. You can also download a PDF version of the complete brochure or a rich-text word version with no images or logos from Official London Theatre’s access page.

Finally, a selection of archived Official London Theatre Guides are available to view online as part of Official London Theatre’s Stats & Facts section. The printed guide has been published regularly since 1922 and the past editions provide a fascinating insight into the history of Theatreland. You can also take part in our competition to celebrate the launch of the online archives for the chance to win £50 in Theatre Tokens. The deadline for entries is 24 April 2009 and full details of how to take part are available here.
