Alison Arnopp will take over the title role in new musical Dusty, which is currently entertaining audiences at the Charing Cross Theatre, from 24 August.

The actress replaces Ellie Ann-Lowe who has been portraying the 60s pop icon since the show began previews in May.

Featuring many of the singer’s greatest hits, Dusty charts the highs and lows of Springfield’s journey from middle class suburban London to the recording of her first album through the eyes of her childhood friend Nancy Jones and other key figures in her life.

Original cast member Francesca Jackson continues in the role of Nancy alongside Leo Elso as the singer’s brother and Graham Kent as her father.

They will be joined by newcomers Sienna Sebek, Harvey Robinson, Witney White, Luke Thornton, Matt Blaker, Oliver Lynes, Ellen Verenieks, Jemma Geanaus, Nikkola Burnhope, Amanda Digón Mata, Megan Makin and Jonathan De Mallet Morgan.

The show, which is directed by Chris Cowey, is brought to life on stage with a combination of cutting edge 3D technology, digital media, live performance, music and dance.
Dusty is currently booking at the Charing Cross Theatre until 21 November, with a press night set to take place on 7 September.

Those wishin’ and hopin’ to see the musical next month will be pleased to hear that Dusty is taking part in West End Wednesdays, TKTS’ popular promotion offering half price tickets to customers visiting the Leicester Square ticket booth midweek. Find out more here.
