When We’re Going On A Bear Hunt in the West End, it’s handy to have a few things around: a comprehensive map, a solid plan, and a brilliant children’s author well versed in such escapades. Luckily for theatregoers this summer, Michael Rosen, author of the novel that inspired the lively stage show, will be hosting a workshop at the Lyric Theatre on Thursday 12 July.

Entrance to the workshop is included with a ticket to the 11am performance of We’re Going On A Bear Hunt on Thursday 12 July, and will take place in the auditorium after the show. The event will be followed by a book signing.

Michael Rosen said of the workshop, “I will run a workshop where parents, carers and children can make up their own kinds of ‘hunts’. I will invite them to make up any kind of hunt or search or quest for anything; animal, human, vegetable…a meal, a hero, a hope! But – Oh no! – what are the obstacles? And when we go ‘through’ them…what’s the noise? and what happens when we get there? What will it do? What will we do? And how do we get home? The same way or another way? Yes, then children and parents and carers can then get us all to join in with their brand new and amazing ‘hunts’.

“I am so looking forward to this. We’re going to have a great time. In fact, ‘We’re going on a great-time hunt! What a beautiful day!’”

We’re Going On A Bear Hunt celebrates its 10th year of touring with a summer season at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue from 4 July – 2 September.
