Joseph And the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has extended its stay at the Adelphi until 18 October. Tickets for the new booking period will be available from Monday 19 November.
This production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s musical is a revival of the 1990 Steven Pimlott-directed production at the London Palladium. It opened at the Adelphi on 17 July this year after a high-profile televised search for a leading man in the form of BBC reality show Any Dream Will Do, which propelled winner Lee Mead into the famous Technicolor coat. Mead remains in the role of Joseph for the new booking period, alongside Preeya Kalidas as the Narrator, Dean Collinson as Pharaoh and Stephen Tate as Jacob/Potiphar.
The family musical is a colourful retelling of the biblical story of Jacob and his 12 sons, of whom Joseph is his favourite. After his brothers, consumed by jealousy, leave him for dead in the desert, Joseph begins a long, tumultuous journey that leads him to the court of the Egyptian Pharoah. Along the way the story features musical numbers including Close Every Door and Any Dream Will Do. em>CB
