Let It Be seeks fab four

First Published 25 April 2012, Last Updated 25 April 2012

The producers of the upcoming West End theatrical concert Let It Be have launched a search for four talented musicians to step into the shoes of The Beatles this autumn.

Open auditions to find a Paul, John, George and Ringo will be held at legendary Beatles venue the Cavern Club in Liverpool on 1 May before the panel opens up the search to Londoners at the Gielgud theatre on 8 May.

Successful auditionees will have the chance to join the cast of Let It Be when it opens at the Prince of Wales theatre on 24 September. The production, which marks the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles’ first single Love Me Do, will feature some of the iconic band’s classic hits, including I Wanna Hold Your Hand and Hard Day’s Night, alongside video footage to tell the story of the band’s meteoric rise from humble beginnings to the height of Beatlemania and their later studio masterpieces.

Anyone wanting to audition to play one of the world’s most famous musicians must be capable of performing Beatles hits as part of a live band and, while a moptop isn’t essential, a physical resemblance is desirable.
