The Olivier Awards 2016 with MasterCard will take place on 3 April and return to the glamorous surroundings of Covent Garden’s iconic Royal Opera House.
Theatre lovers will once again be able to watch highlights from London’s most prestigious theatrical awards on ITV in a special edited programme broadcast following the event and on ITV Player.
The news will no doubt thrill theatre lovers across the country as next year’s Olivier Awards hit an incredible milestone, with 2016 marking its 40th year celebrating London’s outstanding creative theatrical talent.
To celebrate, the awards will be joined by a number of events taking place during a year-long celebration, kicking off with the much anticipated Olivier Awards In Concert on 25 January at the Southbank Centre.
The one-off event will see a host of soon to be announced musical theatre stars performing numbers from celebrated productions accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra and tickets are available to buy through Official London Theatre now here.
Following the concert, the previously announced major transatlantic exhibition Curtain Up! will open at London’s famous V&A in February.
Showcasing the unique relationship between Broadway and the West End, and the staggering talent demonstrated on both sides of the Atlantic, the hugely exciting exhibition is presented in partnership with The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts where it will open in autumn 2016 following its London premiere.
