La Clique heads to Roundhouse

Laurence Olivier Award-winning cabaret show La Clique, which is forced to vacate its home at the Hippodrome on 27 June, is to return to London this Christmas with a nine-week season at Camden’s Roundhouse.

The show, which nearly defies explanation, has an ever-changing line-up of performers who deliver an eye-popping mix of circus, cabaret, new burlesque, variety and music. During its nine month run at the Hippodrome in Leicester Square – during which time it won the 2009 Best Entertainment Laurence Olivier Award – La Clique’s line-up has included a Norwegian contortionist, a Swedish comic magician, an opera singing diva, fetishist Miss Behave and currently prima donna singer Meow Meow.

Despite its success at the Hippodrome, La Clique will give its last performance at the venue on 27 June before developers convert the historic Frank Matcham-designed building into a casino.

After a summer break, La Clique moves into the Roundhouse on 19 November (press night 25 November), promising a previously unseen line-up of international entertainers in a Christmas season that runs to 17 January 2010.
