Special offer for families to see Usagi Yojimbo at Southwark Playhouse

Jonathan Raggett leads Usagi Yojimbo

Published 10 November 2014

Wolfblood’s Jonathan Raggett will make his stage debut in the epic story of a brave rabbit samurai when the family adaptation of Stan Sakai’s iconic comic book series Usagi Yojimbo receives its world premiere at Southwark Playhouse later this year.

Raggett is joined by fellow CBBC star Haruka Kuroda in the tale of the long-eared title character who leaves his home to become a great samurai warrior, which plays at the venue from 28 November to 4 January.

Set in 17th century Japan amidst a world of bandit racoons, feline ninjas and warring animal clans, the show follows Usagi as he learns that the way of the samurai is one of peace and perfection, not just masterful swordmanship, and is faced with a decision that will test his loyalty, honour and dearest friendship.

The cast of the production, which is suitable for children aged eight and older, also includes Amy Ip, Siu Hun Li and Dai Tabuchi.
