Jonathan Pryce and Dame Eileen Atkins will star in a new play by Florian Zeller, The Height Of The Storm, opening at Wyndham’s Theatre this Autumn.

Set to tour several theatres before previewing in the West End from Tuesday 2 October (opening 9 October), The Height Of The Storm is billed as a poignant and compelling new familial drama.

Penned by Zeller, whose previous London hits include The Father, The Mother and The Truth, the play will be translated by Christopher Hampton. This UK premiere production is led by multi-Tony and Olivier Award-winning stars Pryce and Atkins.

André and Madeleine have been in love for over fifty years. This weekend, as their daughters visit, something feels unusual. A bunch of flowers arrives, but who sent them? A woman from the past turns up, but who is she? And why does André feel like he isn’t there at all? What ensues is a searing exploration of love, family and the fragility of life.

The Height Of The Storm will be directed by Jonathan Kent (Gypsy, Long Day’s Journey Into Night), and looks set to be an incredible opportunity to witness two of the greatest actors of their generation on stage together at the same time.

Pryce’s previous credits include Evita, Tomorrow Never Dies, The Pirates Of The Carribean in film, as well as Miss Saigon on Broadway and in the West End, while Atkins is perhaps best known for her award-winning star turn in Cranford and major roles in Doc Martin and The Crown.
