Initial casting has been announced for director Kathy Burke’s West End revival of Wildean comedy Lady Windermere’s Fan, with Jennifer Saunders, Samantha Spiro and Kevin Bishop set to star.

The multi award-winning actress and comedian Saunders, best known as one half of sketch show French And Saunders, will return to the West End for the first time in over two decades as part of the Classic Spring production, guest starring as the Duchess of Berwick.

Double Olivier Award-winning actress Spiro (Merrily We Roll Along, Donmar) will star as Mrs Erlynne, opposite screen star Bishop (Porridge, BBC) as Lord Darlington, in Lady Windermere’s Fan, which forms part of a year-long season of celebration.

Lady Windermere’s Fan previews from 12 January 2018 at the Vaudeville Theatre.

The first play of Classic Spring’s year-long season of Oscar Wilde at the Vaudeville, Dominic Dromgoole’s A Woman of No Importance, begins previews on Friday 6 October.
