In rehearsal: The End Of Longing

Published 22 January 2016

We’re not suggesting Friends star turned playwright Matthew Perry or director Lindsay Posner have imposed a dress code for their rehearsal room but grey jumpers and matching Converse certainly seem the way forward for The End Of Longing company…

With just a few weeks until the quartet will grace the Playhouse Theatre stage for the first time in Perry’s first ever comedy for the stage, Marc Brenner snuck into the rehearsal room to give audiences a sneak peek at what they can expect.

While we’re yet to see how Anna Fleischle will turn her award-winning designer hand to the story of four 40-somethings and the effect of one raucous night in LA, one thing is for sure from these photos, much like Perry and Posner’s last work together in 2003’s Sexual Perversity In Chicago, a bed or two will feature.

The only other clues we can see to support the show’s “raucous” promise is an empty bottle or two of Corona although they’ve possibly already pushed Lloyd Owen over the edge, tucked up as he is in bed.

Take a look at the photos above and start your guess work, then book your tickets here to catch the play from 2 February.
