In rehearsal: King Lear

First Published 14 August 2012, Last Updated 20 August 2013

It’s a role on every actor’s wish list and with a theatrical CV as varied and acclaimed as Jonathan Pryce’s, you might be surprised to learn that the actor is yet to make his King Lear debut. However, with rehearsals now in full swing, it’s not long until the Olivier Award-winning actor steps onto the Almeida theatre’s stage as the famous royal in Michael Attenborough’s new production.

Joining him in the cast as his two power hungry daughters Goneril and Regan are Zoe Waites and Jenny Jules, while Phoebe Fox will make her Almeida theatre debut as the noble Cordelia.

Photographer Keith Patterson took a sneaky peek at rehearsals to offer a glimpse of what audiences can expect when the show begins its run on 31 August.
