It’s definitely not the Disney musical, but Bryony Lavery’s award-winning play Frozen will certainly be taking the West End by storm soon. The chilling psychological thriller plays at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 9 February, with a cast led by Doctor Foster’s Suranne Jones.

Jones is joined by stars Nina Sosanya (W1A, Last Tango In Halifax), who plays the role of Agnetha, Jason Watkins (Line of Duty, Taboo, W1A) who plays the role of Ralph. The trio portray three strangers trying to make sense of the unimaginable – when a mother’s child goes missing – and from the looks of the first rehearsal shots, it’s set to be an emotionally thawing affair for all.

A play about retribution, remorse and redemption, Frozen explores the interwoven lives of three strangers as they try to find catharsis and come to terms with the idea of forgiveness.

Not to be mistaken with the upcoming Disney Broadway musical of the same name, the play Frozen, written by Bryony Lavery, was originally performed at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1998. It subsequently went on to become a smash-hit play at the National Theatre, and has been revived several times since.
