In rehearsal: Elf The Musical

First Published 16 October 2015, Last Updated 23 October 2015

The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear… or, if it’s still only October, it’s probably sharing rehearsal images of the Elf The Musical team putting the fabulously festive production together.

You may be disappointed to notice there’s no tinsel wrapped around the rehearsal room table, there’s a distinct lack of an indoor pine tree in the corner of the room and there’s not a solitary mince pie in sight. At first glance, there’s not a lot about the Elf The Musical rehearsal room that could be called festive.

But look again. Look at the gleam in former Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh’s eye. Look at the wide grin spreading across the face of Ben Forster, who will play Buddy in the West End premiere of the yuletide show. Look at the fun everyone is having.

The trappings of Christmas might not be obvious, but these photos, taken by Becky Lee, positively radiate with the Christmas spirit. And I don’t mean brandy.

This all bodes well for when the show, which is based on the hit Will Ferrell film and tells the story of a human boy raised by elves who heads back to New York to find his real father, takes to the Dominion Theatre stage later this month.

The show officially opens with a gala performance on 5 November. All money raised by ticket sales from the gala will be donated to Alzheimer’s Society.

If these pictures have you glowing with excitement like a Christmas chestnut in a brazier, you can book tickets through us here.
