For the West End, Bat is well and truly back – Bat Out Of Hell The Musical scorches back into London from 2 April at the Dominion Theatre.

Jim Steinman’s mammoth musical is a no-holds-barred, adrenaline-fuelled rocket of a show, based on the album of the same name. It first soared into our memories last Summer when it played a limited run at the London Coliseum – it’s a truly unforgettable one – and now returns to London’s Theatreland.

And from the looks of the first rehearsal pictures, the cast, many of whom return to the show (including leads Andrew Polec and Christina Bennington), mean business again this time around. Take a look at the show in action – and set your “incredibly excited” timers for the evening of 2 April.

Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical is a romantic adventure about rebellious youth and passionate love, set against the backdrop of a post-cataclysmic city adrift from the mainland. Strat, the forever young leader of The Lost, has fallen for Raven, daughter of Falco, the tyrannical, ruler of Obsidian – and the two are set on a collision course that will change things forever.

For the stage musical, the award-winning Jim Steinman has incorporated iconic songs from his Bat Out Of Hell albums, including You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth, Bat Out Of Hell, I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That) and Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad, as well as two previously unreleased songs, What Part of My Body Hurts the Most and Not Allowed to Love.
