In rehearsal: Albion

First Published 21 September 2017, Last Updated 21 September 2017

‘It’s England really, isn’t it? A climate without cloud and rain isn’t honest.’

Albion is a new play by Mike Bartlett, directed by Rupert Goold, their first collaboration following their international award-winning production of King Charles III. Albion plays at the Almeida Theatre from 10 October to 24 November.

Albion is led by Tony Award-nominated star Victoria Hamilton (who starred as The Queen Mother in The Crown, and Anna in Doctor Foster), and is set in the ruins of a garden in rural England, where one woman searches for seeds of hope amidst a dilapidated house which was once a home.

Take a look at these snaps from the rehearsal room, all taken by Marc Brenner.

The production will have a unique configuration with raked seating on three sides of the stage. There will be a post-show discussion with members of the Albion company, which will be free to same-day ticket holders, on Thursday 26 October. Find out more on the Almeida Theatre website
