In pictures: Stars support Burke debut

Well-known faces of the music industry were out in force last night to support fellow recording artist Alexandra Burke as she took to the stage for the media night of hit West End musical The Bodyguard.

From bands that, like Burke, started out on TV’s biggest talent show to a former Sugababe, guests at last night’s event gathered at the Adelphi Theatre to see The Bodyguard’s new leading lady take on some of Whitney Houston’s most powerful hits.

Joining stars including Rough Copy, Kingsland Road, Jade Ewen, Javine and Jamelia were the less musically minded Amy Willerton, Jenni Falconer and one man who would no doubt give Burke’s co-star Tristan Gemmill a run for his money in the role of Rachel Marron’s protector, Olympic champion boxer Anthony Joshua.

Take a look at our gallery to see more of the guests from last night’s performance along with Burke and Gemmill, who are due to star in the musical until it closes at the Adelphi on 30 August, enjoying a well-deserved celebration after the show.
