One of the most highly anticipated dates of the London theatre calendar, the Olivier Awards nominations announcement, took place today, when West End performers and producers gathered at the stunning Rosewood London for an incredible event celebrating the very best theatrical talent seen on stage in the past year.
The Holborn hotel’s glittering ballroom was packed with nervous energy as attendees took their seats and awaited the onstage arrival of Olivier Award winner Lesley Manville and The Ruling Class star James McAvoy, who were on hand to reveal the lucky nominees.
As fate would have it, last year’s Best Actress Award recipient ended up announcing her co-host’s name as one of the four acclaimed leading men who are to fight it out for one of the prestigious accolades, with McAvoy receiving a nomination in the Best Actor category.
