Harry Potter’s Granger-Weasley crew revealed

First Published 1 June 2016, Last Updated 2 June 2016

In the latest of Harry Potter And The Cursed Child’s family album photo series, the hugely anticipated show has released a first look at the Granger-Weasley family and announced who will play daughter Rose.

While yesterday’s announcement revealed Ginny had taken her husband Potter’s name, Harry Potter geeks – yes, that’s me – will be quick to spy Ron Wealsey and Hermione Granger’s family have taken the double barrelled approach, with their daughter named Rose Granger-Weasley.

Cherrelle Skeete will follow roles in Three Days In The Country and Amen Corner at the National Theatre to play Rose opposite her previously announced on stage parents Noma Dumezweni and Paul Thornley.

There are now only days until fans will have the chance to watch the famous characters come to life on stage in the world premiere of J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany drama split into two parts.

Set after the seventh and final book, Potter is now an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic and a father to three school-age children. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes from unexpected places.

While tickets were predictably snapped up in their thousands just minutes after going on sale, there are still ways you can see the show, including The Friday Forty. Every Friday at 13:00 fans can enter to be in with the chance of purchasing up to two tickets to catch both Part 1 and 2 the following week. You can find full details on the official show website.

Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is currently booking at the Palace Theatre to 25 May 2017.
