Little Shop Of Horrors star and veteran stage actress Ellen Greene has joined the cast of Betwixt!, Trafalgar Studio 2’s forthcoming fantasy musical.

Greene, who starred in Little Shop Of Horrors on Broadway, in the West End and in the Hollywood film adaptation, joins previously announced cast members Steven Webb, Ashleigh Gray and Benedict Salter

Ian McFarlane’s off the wall musical tells the story of two New York flatmates who are catapulted into a strange enchanted world inhabited by heroes and queens, cross-dressing mutes and faded daytime TV stars, pregnant princesses and a disembodied head.

The Pushing Daisies actress will take on three roles in the comedy playing identical triplets; the Enchantress, the Princess and the Nymph Queen.

Greene last appeared on the London stage in her cabaret show Torch! at the New Players Theatre. In America, the actress, singer and recording artist’s extensive theatre credits include a Tony Award-nominated performance in The Three Penny Opera, The Prince And The Aviator and Three Men On A Horse.

Greene’s last stage appearance saw her star alongside Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jessica Biel in a concert version of Guys And Dolls at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. Also popular for her cabaret shows, Greene released her debut album In His Eyes in 2004.

Betwixt! opens on 28 July, following previews from 26 July, and runs until 20 August.
