David Tennant will return to the West End in Spring 2021 as the protagonist in C.P. Taylor’s Good, which was due to open this October at the Playhouse Theatre.
The new schedule will be announced in due course. Current ticket holders will be given priority for the new dates and their point of purchase will be in touch once the new dates are confirmed, to reschedule or refund their booking.
Commissioned by the RSC in 1981, Good is a drama that explores the ways that the Holocaust happened through step-by-step radicalisation of even seemingly liberal parts of pre-war German society.
The play follows John Halder (Tennant), a literary professor and by all measures a good husband, father and son, in his journey from this seeming ‘goodness’ to the top ranks of the SS.

I have no doubt that it will really resonate for audiences when we open next Spring. This delay is unavoidable but only whets my appetite for getting to work on this extraordinary play”
